OUR CHALLENGE was to transform this 1901 stone and shingle gambrel into the Owner’s vision of a comfortable English cottage. This involved completely gutting the existing house and guest house, major plan reconfigurations, and several additions. The new design plays off period details and respects the intimate scale of the original rooms. We collaborated closely with our clients and their interior designer to coordinate every architectural detail with the furnishings and finishes. The result is a cohesive home that feels as if it were always this way.
